Engineering Excellence

This premium polyurethane coiled hose assembly represents the pinnacle of pneumatic hose technology. Manufactured from high-grade polyurethane elastomer, it delivers exceptional performance characteristics that surpass conventional PVC and rubber alternatives across every metric that matters in professional workshop environments.

The 8mm internal diameter provides optimal air flow for pneumatic tools up to medium duty, whilst the 10-metre coiled configuration offers extended reach without the floor clutter of straight hoses. Superior recoil memory ensures the hose returns to its compact coiled state after each use, maintaining workspace organisation and reducing trip hazards.

Material Advantages

  • Exceptional abrasion resistance — polyurethane construction withstands workshop floor contact and repeated dragging without degradation
  • Superior flexibility retention — remains supple in temperatures from -20°C to +60°C, unlike PVC which stiffens in cold conditions
  • Excellent chemical resistance — withstands exposure to oils, solvents, and workshop fluids without swelling or deterioration
  • Lightweight construction — significantly lighter than rubber equivalents, reducing operator fatigue during extended use
  • Non-marking formulation — red polyurethane will not leave black scuff marks on floors or finished surfaces

Swivel End Fittings

Both terminations feature precision-machined R 1/4 BSP male threaded swivel couplings. The 360-degree rotation eliminates hose twist and kinking during tool operation, extending service life and improving operator comfort. Swivel bearings are sealed against contamination and require no maintenance throughout the hose's operational life.

The R 1/4 BSP parallel thread is the UK and European standard for pneumatic connections, ensuring direct compatibility with the vast majority of air tools, quick couplers, and compressor outlets without adaptors.

Ideal Applications

Workshop & Garage

Impact wrenches, ratchets, blow guns, tyre inflators, and general pneumatic tool operation in automotive and maintenance environments.

Manufacturing & Assembly

Production line air tools, assembly stations, quality control equipment, and light-duty pneumatic automation.

Mobile & Field Service

Service vans, mobile workshops, and on-site maintenance where compact storage and rapid deployment are essential.

Installation & Compatibility

Connect directly to any R 1/4 BSP female threaded outlet or quick coupler. For compressors or tools with different thread standards, appropriate adaptors are available separately. We recommend using PTFE tape or liquid thread sealant on all threaded connections to ensure an airtight seal.

The 8mm bore is suitable for air tools consuming up to approximately 150 litres per minute (5.3 CFM) at distances up to 10 metres. For higher flow requirements or longer runs, consider our 10mm bore variants.

Maintenance & Service Life

Polyurethane hoses require minimal maintenance. Periodically inspect for cuts, abrasions, or fitting damage. Clean with mild detergent and water if contaminated. Store away from direct sunlight and ozone sources when not in use. With proper care, expect a service life of 5+ years in typical workshop conditions.

The swivel fittings are permanently sealed and require no lubrication. If rotation becomes stiff, this indicates wear and the assembly should be replaced.
