Installation Guide
- Ensure the compressed air system is fully depressurised and isolated before beginning work.
- Clean both male thread ends and the receiving female ports — remove any debris, swarf, or old sealant.
- Apply PTFE thread tape (2–3 wraps) to each R3/8 BSP male thread in the direction of the thread.
- Hand-tighten the fitting into both ports, then use a spanner to tighten a further 1–2 turns. Do not overtighten.
- Pressurise the system gradually and inspect all joints for leaks using soapy water or a leak-detection spray.
- If any weeping is detected, depressurise, re-apply PTFE tape, and re-tighten. Never tighten under pressure.
Compatibility Note
This fitting uses R3/8 BSP (British Standard Pipe Parallel) male thread on both ends. It is compatible with standard Rp3/8 BSP female ports found on the majority of UK and European compressors, air receivers, manifolds, and pneumatic tooling. Always verify the thread standard of your existing installation before ordering. BSP and NPT (American) threads are not interchangeable.
