Why 304 Stainless Steel?
304 grade stainless steel is the benchmark alloy for hose clip manufacture — and for good reason. Its 18% chromium and 8% nickel composition forms a self-repairing passive oxide layer that resists corrosion in wet, saline, and chemically aggressive environments without surface treatment or plating.
Unlike zinc-plated mild steel alternatives, 304 SS retains its structural integrity and clamping torque over years of service. It will not flake, blister, or delaminate — making it the only responsible choice for safety-critical, marine, or outdoor installations.
The Jubilee® band is cold-rolled to a consistent gauge, ensuring uniform radial pressure around the full circumference of the hose — eliminating the localised stress points that cause micro-cracking and premature failure in inferior clips.

Correct Fitting Procedure
- Verify the hose outer diameter falls within the 9.5–12mm clamping range before fitting. An oversized clip will not generate adequate sealing pressure.
- Slide the clip onto the hose before connecting to the fitting. Attempting to fit the clip after connection risks hose damage.
- Push the hose fully onto the barb or spigot — the hose end should be flush with or beyond the last barb ridge.
- Position the clip 3–5mm from the hose end, centred over the barb or spigot retaining feature.
- Tighten the worm screw progressively using a flat-head or Pozidriv screwdriver. Do not use an impact driver — over-torquing will cut the hose band.
- After initial pressurisation, re-check and re-torque the clip. Hose rubber compresses under load and the clip may require a quarter-turn to maintain seal integrity.
