The Original Worm Drive Clip

Since 1921, Jubilee® has set the benchmark for hose clip engineering. The Size 2X is the workhorse of pneumatic and fluid systems—trusted across workshops, fleet maintenance, and industrial installations throughout the UK.

Each clip features the signature Jubilee® worm drive mechanism: precision-cut threads that deliver even clamping force around the full circumference, eliminating hot spots and preventing hose damage. The mild steel band with zinc plating offers excellent corrosion resistance for general-purpose applications.

Applications & Use Cases

  • Air compressor hose connections – Secure air lines to manifolds, regulators, and tools
  • Coolant and water systems – Automotive radiator hoses, heating circuits
  • Pneumatic equipment – Workshop air tools, spray guns, blow guns
  • General fluid transfer – Oil, fuel, and hydraulic hose assemblies
  • Marine and agricultural – Irrigation, bilge pumps, engine cooling

Why Jubilee® Clips Are the Professional Choice

Even Clamping Force

Precision worm drive distributes pressure uniformly, preventing hose deformation and extending service life.

Corrosion Resistant

Zinc electroplating provides robust protection against moisture, oils, and workshop environments.

Quick Installation

Standard slotted hex head accepts screwdrivers or 8mm spanners—no special tools required.

Reusable & Adjustable

Loosen, reposition, and retighten without compromising grip—ideal for maintenance and testing.

Installation Best Practice

  1. Select the correct size – Measure hose outer diameter; clip should overlap by 5-10mm when closed
  2. Position the clip – Slide over hose end before fitting to barb or spigot
  3. Seat the hose – Push hose fully onto fitting until it reaches the stop or flange
  4. Position the housing – Rotate clip so screw head is accessible and clear of obstructions
  5. Tighten evenly – Use screwdriver or 8mm spanner; tighten until hose is secure but not crushed
  6. Inspect – Check for even band contact around circumference; no gaps or twists

Torque recommendation: Hand-tight plus ¼ turn. Over-tightening can damage hose or reduce clip lifespan.

Hose Material Compatibility

Jubilee® Size 2X clips are compatible with:

  • Rubber (NBR, EPDM, natural rubber)
  • PVC and reinforced PVC
  • Polyurethane (PU)
  • Silicone (high-temperature applications)
  • Nylon and braided nylon

Note: For aggressive chemicals or high-temperature steam, consider upgrading to 304 stainless steel Jubilee® clips.

Frequently Asked Questions

What diameter hose does Size 2X fit?

Size 2X fits hoses with an outer diameter between 45mm and 60mm (approximately 1¾" to 2⅜"). Always measure the hose OD, not the bore.

Can I use these clips outdoors?

Yes. The zinc plating provides good corrosion resistance for outdoor use in typical UK conditions. For marine or coastal environments, stainless steel clips offer superior longevity.

Are these clips reusable?

Absolutely. Jubilee® clips can be loosened and retightened multiple times without loss of performance, making them ideal for systems requiring periodic maintenance.

What's the difference between mild steel and stainless steel clips?

Mild steel clips (zinc plated) are cost-effective for general workshop use. Stainless steel clips offer superior corrosion resistance for harsh environments, food-grade applications, or marine use.
