Installation Best Practice
- Select Correct Size: Measure hose outer diameter. The clip should overlap the hose by 10–20mm at minimum tightness for optimal grip range.
- Position the Clip: Slide the clip over the hose end before fitting to the barb or spigot. Position 5–10mm back from the hose end.
- Fit the Hose: Push the hose fully onto the connection barb until it seats against the shoulder or reaches the insertion depth mark.
- Tighten Evenly: Use a flat-blade screwdriver to turn the worm screw clockwise. Tighten until the hose compresses slightly but does not bulge or distort.
- Inspect: Check that the band sits squarely on the hose without twisting. Verify no gaps between band and hose surface.
- Torque Check: For critical applications, re-check tightness after initial system pressurization or heat cycle.
Material & Environment Guide
Mild Steel Zinc Plated is the industry-standard choice for general workshop, automotive, and light industrial use. The zinc coating provides good corrosion resistance in dry and moderately humid environments.
Recommended for: Workshop air lines, automotive engine bays, indoor industrial systems, temporary or non-critical outdoor installations.
Not recommended for: Continuous saltwater immersion, high-humidity marine environments, acidic or alkaline chemical exposure. For these applications, specify 304 or 316 stainless steel variants.
