Installation Guidelines
- Prepare Threads: Clean both male threads thoroughly and remove any debris or old sealant
- Apply Sealant: Wrap PTFE tape clockwise (3-4 wraps) or apply liquid thread sealant to male threads
- Hand Tighten: Thread the fitting hand-tight until resistance is felt
- Final Tightening: Use appropriate spanners to tighten 1-2 turns beyond hand-tight – do not over-tighten
- Pressure Test: Pressurize system gradually and check for leaks with soapy water solution
Note: Always use appropriate thread sealant for compressed air applications. Over-tightening can damage threads or crack the fitting.
Thread Compatibility Guide
This parallel socket features RP 1/2" BSP threads (parallel female). It mates with:
- ✓ R 1/2" BSP male (tapered) – most common pairing
- ✓ RP 1/2" BSP male (parallel) – with appropriate sealing washer
- ✓ G 1/2" male threads (ISO 228-1 equivalent)
Not compatible with NPT threads – BSP and NPT are different standards and should not be mixed.
