  1. Apply PTFE tape or thread sealant to the male BSP thread before installation to ensure a leak-free seal.
  2. Hand-tighten the gauge into the R 1/4 BSP port, then apply 1–1.5 additional turns with a spanner. Do not over-tighten — this can distort the case or damage threads.
  3. Position the dial face perpendicular to the line of sight for optimal readability. The gauge operates accurately in any orientation.
  4. Pressurise the system slowly and inspect the connection for leaks before returning to full operating pressure.

The R 1/4 BSP parallel thread is the standard connection on the majority of UK and European pneumatic regulators, manifolds, and FRL units. This gauge is a direct replacement or addition to most workshop compressor systems without modification. If your system uses an NPT (National Pipe Thread) port, a BSP-to-NPT adaptor will be required.
