What You Need to Know
This coned tailpiece is designed for use with standard 6.35mm (¼″) internal diameter air hose — the most common bore size in UK workshop air line systems. The hose is pushed over the barb and secured; the coned end then seats into the union nut to form a pressure-tight joint at the port.
The Rp ¼ thread (also known as BSPP — British Standard Pipe Parallel) is the standard thread found on the majority of UK and European pneumatic components including regulators, manifolds, quick-release couplings, and air line valves. This fitting is compatible with all standard Rp ¼ union nuts.
For a complete hose assembly, pair this tailpiece with our matching Rp ¼ Union Nut and your chosen hose. No PTFE tape is required at the coned seat interface — the geometry provides the seal.
