Understanding RP 1/4 BSP Thread
RP (also written Rp) denotes a BSP parallel internal thread conforming to ISO 228-1. Unlike tapered BSPT threads, parallel threads seal via a bonded seal, O-ring, or flat-face washer — not thread engagement. Ensure your compressor outlet and tool inlet fittings are compatible with parallel-thread swivel connections before ordering. If your system uses BSPT (tapered) fittings, a simple adaptor will bridge the two standards.
Swivel Bearing Mechanism
Both end fittings incorporate precision swivel bearings that allow 360° rotation independent of the hose body. This eliminates torsional stress at the crimp point — the most common failure location on non-swivel assemblies — and significantly extends service life in applications where the hose is regularly repositioned.
