Brass Hose Tail Adaptor — 7.9mm (5/16″) to R 1/4″ BSP Male Thread
A precision-machined, nickel-plated brass hose tail designed for professional pneumatic installations. Delivers a secure, leak-free barbed connection between 7.9mm (5/16″) bore air hose and R 1/4″ BSP male-threaded ports — built to perform in demanding workshop and industrial environments.
Technical Specification
Why This Fitting
The barbed hose tail design creates a mechanical grip on the inner bore of the hose, eliminating the risk of blow-off under pressure when secured with a hose clip. The R 1/4″ BSP parallel male thread is the most common port size found on compressors, regulators, manifolds, and pneumatic tools across UK workshops — making this adaptor a universal solution for the majority of air line installations.
- Precision-machined brass body — dimensionally accurate for consistent, repeatable assembly
- Nickel-plated finish — resists corrosion in humid workshop and industrial environments
- Barbed retention profile — locks securely into 5/16″ bore hose; use with a hose clip for a permanent seal
- R 1/4″ BSP male thread — compatible with the vast majority of UK pneumatic equipment ports
- Compact, low-profile form factor — ideal for tight installations and panel-mounted ports
- No PTFE tape required on parallel threads — use with a bonded seal or O-ring for a leak-free joint
Typical Applications
- Air compressor outlet connections
- Pneumatic tool air line assemblies
- Workshop drop lines & reels
- Regulator & filter port connections
- Manifold branch connections
- Spray gun & blow gun feeds
- Tyre inflation equipment
- Industrial automation air circuits
Installation Notes
Push the barbed tail firmly into the 5/16″ (7.9mm) bore of your air hose until the barb is fully seated. Secure with a worm-drive hose clip positioned over the barb for a permanent, pressure-rated connection. Apply a bonded seal or fibre washer to the R 1/4″ BSP male thread before tightening into the port — do not over-torque. Inspect the joint before pressurising the system.
