PCL 9.5mm (3/8″) Hose Tail to R 3/8″ BSPT Male Thread Adaptor
Nickel-Plated Brass — Workshop Grade
A precision-engineered hose tail adaptor machined from solid brass and finished with a corrosion-resistant nickel plate. Designed to connect 9.5 mm (3/8″ I/D) compressed air hose to any R 3/8″ BSPT male-threaded port — delivering a leak-free, vibration-resistant seal in demanding workshop environments.
Technical Specifications
Product Overview
The right fitting is the difference between a system that performs and one that fails. This hose tail adaptor is machined to tight tolerances from high-grade brass — a material chosen for its natural resistance to corrosion, its machinability, and its long-term reliability under cyclic pressure loads. The nickel plating adds a further layer of protection against moisture and workshop contaminants, ensuring the fitting maintains its integrity across thousands of connect/disconnect cycles.
The tapered BSPT thread form creates a metal-to-metal seal as it is tightened, eliminating reliance on thread sealant alone. Combined with the barbed hose tail profile — engineered to grip 9.5 mm I/D hose securely under pressure — this adaptor delivers the kind of dependable, zero-leak performance that professional workshops demand.
Key Features
- Precision-machined brass body — dimensionally accurate, pressure-rated, and built to last
- Nickel-plated finish — resists corrosion, moisture, and workshop oils for extended service life
- BSPT tapered thread — self-sealing taper form for a reliable, leak-free connection without excessive sealant
- Barbed hose tail profile — grips 9.5 mm (3/8″ I/D) hose securely under full working pressure
- PCL-compatible design — direct replacement for PCL HC2951/18 and equivalent fittings
- Rated to 300 PSI / 20 bar — suitable for all standard workshop compressor outputs
- Compact, lightweight form factor — ideal for tight installations and mobile air line rigs
Typical Applications
Specified by engineers and workshop managers across a broad range of professional environments:
Installation Guide
- Depressurise the system fully before beginning any fitting work.
- Inspect the port thread for damage or contamination; clean with a wire brush if necessary.
- Apply PTFE thread tape (2–3 wraps) to the male thread in the direction of the thread helix.
- Hand-tighten the adaptor into the port, then use a spanner to tighten a further 1–2 turns — do not overtighten.
- Push the hose firmly over the barbed tail until it seats fully against the shoulder.
- Secure with a hose clip (recommended for pressures above 150 PSI or permanent installations).
- Repressurise and inspect for leaks using soapy water or leak-detection spray.
