Installation Best Practice
- Select Correct Size: Measure hose outer diameter; clip should overlap by 5–10mm at minimum diameter
- Position the Clip: Slide clip over hose before fitting to barb or spigot
- Seat the Hose: Push hose fully onto fitting, ensuring no air gaps or kinks
- Locate the Clip: Position clip 5–10mm from hose end, centered over the barb ridge
- Tighten Evenly: Use 7mm or 9mm socket/driver; tighten until hose compresses slightly but does not bulge
- Inspect: Check for even compression around circumference; re-torque after initial pressure cycle if required
Material & Finish Guide
Mild Steel Zinc Plated (MS/ZP) offers excellent value and corrosion resistance for the majority of workshop and light industrial applications. Suitable for:
- Indoor environments and covered workshops
- Dry or intermittently wet conditions
- Non-corrosive fluids (water, air, coolant, oil)
- Temperature range: -20°C to +80°C
For marine, coastal, or continuous outdoor exposure, consider our 304 Stainless Steel variant (Size 2A SS available separately).
