Installation Guide
- 1Depressurise the system completely and isolate the air supply before beginning any fitting work.
- 2Apply 2–3 wraps of quality PTFE thread seal tape to the 1/4" NPT male thread, winding in the direction of the thread.
- 3Hand-thread the NPT male end into your NPT-tapped port until finger-tight, then tighten a further 1–2 turns with a spanner.
- 4Connect your Rp 1/4" BSPP female fitting or hose to the parallel female port, using an appropriate face seal or bonded washer.
- 5Re-pressurise gradually and inspect all joints with soapy water or leak detection fluid before returning to full operating pressure.
Thread Standard Compatibility Note
NPT (National Pipe Taper) is the American standard for tapered pipe threads (ANSI/ASME B1.20.1). Rp (Parallel BSPP) is the ISO 228 / BS EN 10226 parallel internal thread used throughout European pneumatic systems. These two standards are not directly interchangeable — this adapter provides the correct engineered transition between them. Always verify thread standards before installation.
