Installation Guidelines
⚠️ Important: BSPP Parallel Thread Sealing
BSPP parallel threads require bonded seal washers or PTFE tape for leak-free sealing. Hand-tighten plus 1-1.5 turns maximum. Over-torquing will damage threads.
- Clean threads: Remove debris, old sealant and contamination from both male and female threads
- Apply sealant: Wrap 2-3 layers of PTFE tape clockwise on male threads, or use approved liquid thread sealant
- Hand-tighten first: Thread the connection by hand to ensure proper alignment and prevent cross-threading
- Final tightening: Use appropriate spanners (17mm for 3/8″, 13mm for 1/4″) for 1-1.5 additional turns only
- Pressure test: Gradually pressurize the system and check for leaks with soapy water before full operation
- Regular inspection: Check quarterly for wear, corrosion, vibration loosening or air leakage
