Why It Performs
Engineering Advantages
Eliminate Hose Twist & Premature Wear
The precision swivel mechanism allows the hose to rotate freely under pressure, preventing kinks and stress fractures. In high-movement applications this can extend hose service life by up to 40% versus fixed elbows.
Corrosion-Resistant Nickel Plating
The brass body is finished with a uniform nickel coat that resists oxidation in humid workshop environments. Thread engagement remains consistent across repeated assembly cycles — no galling, no seizing.
Tool-Free Push-Fit Connection
The 8mm collet-grip port accepts standard PU or nylon tube in a single push. The stainless steel collet locks under pressure and releases with a simple collar retraction — no clamps, no ferrules.
Trade-Ready Packaging
Individually bagged with protective port caps to prevent contamination during storage. Barcode labelling supports efficient inventory management for trade counters and distributor stock rooms.
Step-by-Step
Installation Guide
-
1Thread Preparation Apply 2–3 clockwise wraps of PTFE tape or a thread sealant compound to the R3/8 male thread before installation.
-
2Thread Engagement Hand-tighten into the female BSP port, then snug with a 19mm open-ended spanner. Do not overtighten — brass threads are susceptible to stripping.
-
3Tube Preparation Cut 8mm OD polyurethane or nylon tube cleanly and squarely using a tube cutter. Deburr the cut end to ensure a full collet grip.
-
4Tube Connection Push the tube firmly into the 8mm port until it bottoms out. A slight resistance confirms the collet has engaged. Tug gently to verify retention.
-
5Pressure Test Pressurise the system gradually to working pressure and inspect all joints with a soapy water solution. No bubbles = leak-free installation.
-
6Swivel Verification Confirm smooth, unrestricted 360° rotation without binding or excessive play. Orient the hose to its natural routing position before final lock-off.
Compatibility & Standards
Conforms to ISO 228-1 parallel thread standard (R3/8 BSP). Accepts standard 8mm OD polyurethane (PU), nylon (PA), or polyethylene (PE) pneumatic tubing rated for compressed air service. Compatible with all major European and UK pneumatic hose specifications. Recommended tubing: 8mm OD × 5mm ID PU or PA.
Longevity
Maintenance & Service Life
Under normal workshop conditions — clean, dry compressed air at 6–8 bar — expect a service life exceeding 100,000 swivel cycles. Periodic inspection of the NBR O-ring seal is recommended in high-duty or high-temperature applications. Replacement O-rings are available separately.
Maintenance tip: Apply a single drop of pneumatic tool oil to the swivel joint annually to maintain smooth rotation and prolong O-ring life.
